BTLN UPDATE
Last football of the year! Can't believe how fast the year has gone! We started the night with Menno and Gatorade, always a fabulous way to start! Thanks to Devin for cooking up the Menno. Last week we had 48 Menno dogs, this week we had 64 and not one left!
This week at football Owen's team was quick six. Owen had a touchdown catch on our first play of the game! After that the offense stalled as Jeremy's team scored two to go up 2-1. (Trying to remember who scored for Jeremy, I'm thinking Dan D. and possibly Dartagnan.) Owen's team couldn't cross half until another big play(quick six)this time Nathan Ball or was it Kaleb, anyway one big play and the game was tied 2-2. We went to overtime with Owen's team first on offense. Owen had a big catch to put us on the two yard line and then Sammy J. caught the go ahead touchdown! Next up Jeremy's team seemed to struggle until Jeremy made a big throw to Dalton S. in the back of the end zone to tie the game at 3-3. It was a fitting end to Battalion football 2010.
In Bible study this week we looked back on the last year. Our theme this year was "How great is our God!". This year we looked at God's greatness in many ways; in the creation of the world, the flood of Noah, and the story of Job. We also looked at God's faithfulness, wisdom, justice and his grace. Here are some passages that we looked at this year.
Psalm 104:1 - Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
Habakkuk 3:2a - Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord.
Isaiah 28:29 - All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, wonderful in counsel and magnificent in wisdom.
Finished the night with Bulldog, it is awesome on the grass!(No hard floors or walls!) Just like any other night there were big hits and guys going down hard, but they always get back up! Sam and Dalton were the last two guys standing and after a couple more big hits Dalton emerged the victor. Congrats Dalton!
Last Night next week! 9 foot Party Sub from Subway! Remember Battalion is like heaven there is always room for one more!
