BTLN FOOTBALL TAILGATER (POP N DOGS)

I'm not sure why it took us so long to add a tailgater to Btln football but I'm glad we finally figured it out. It started around 6:15 and at around 6:45 all 48 Menno dogs were gone! When we first arrived I realized that I had forgotten ketchup and mustard, a vital part of any tailgate party. We phoned Jeremy but realized that he wouldn't be arriving any time soon. I suggested that we should go to the house across the street and ask the people that lived there if we could borrow their ketchup and mustard, not expecting anyone to actually do it. But Blake thought that it was a good idea so he went over and asked, and much to our surprise he came back with ketchup and mustard in hand!
After Pop n Dogs we started training camp for The 2010 Director's Cup. The teams were even as both teams marched the ball down the field but were unable to score in the first half. In the second half the offenses took over. Justin scored first putting our team up 1-0. Next time down the field Stevie caught a touchdown pass to put us up 2-0. Jeremy and Blake's team rallied with a couple of big catches by d-Pod and Zane to move the ball into the red zone. Luke finished the drive with a big touchdown catch to make the score 2-1. But they ran out of daylight before they could tie the game. The game finished 2-1.
Usually after football we race back to the church for Bible study but this time we decided to stay at the field. We read the Easter story and looked at Barabbas(The murderer that was released from prison instead of Jesus.)and how he certainly did not turn down the offer to go free. Why would we do any different? Jesus has taken our place as well! Why would we not accept the freedom that Christ has paid for?

Hebrews 2:3a - How shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?

Galatians 5:1a - It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.

Romans 6:18a - You have been set free from sin.

John 8:34-36 - Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Next up was Bulldog on the field. (Jeremy set up some cones) Rik started in the middle and after a few rounds and some big hits Stevie came up with his fifth Helmet of the year! Congrats Stevie!
M.M.A. was popular at the beginning of the year and this week it made a return to Btln 3739. Nearly everyone took a turn, including Jeremy trying to take Justin and Nathan by himself. Sam S. is undefeated among the boys and Jeremy is the leader that has taken on all challengers and is still undefeated.

Only two weeks left! Lets make the most of them! Next week we are back at the high school field for Pop n Dogs and football and then the following week is Last Night back at the church for games and a 9 foot party sub from Subway!

Battalion 3739 will be bringing it for the next two weeks!

Remember Battalion is like Heaven, there is always room for one more! So bring a friend!
