BTLN UPDATE

Congrats to Aiden on his second helmet of the Battalion year! Aiden is now tied for first in the race for Winston with Jonny and Caleb at two helmets each. Congrats again to Aiden on the helmet win!

This week we played handball! It was a super exciting game this week! Once both Luke and Josh's teams were tied at 12, we went down to one ball. The teams were super even, and no one could score. With no one scoring, we took the defenders out of the key. Since no one had gotten a goal yet, we finally decided to end the game with a shootout! Each team picked three players to take a shot from the top of the key. Jonny, Brett, and Paxton all shot for Josh's team. Aiden, Caleb, and Kedir shot for Luke's team. All six of the guys missed, so we had each team pick one more guy to shoot. Aiden shot for Luke's team and missed. Brett bounced a shot passed Luke to score and take the win for Josh's team! Congrats to Josh's team on the win! It was the craziest game of handball I've ever played!

This week the Bible study topic was encouragement!

Here are some passages we read on the topic:

Romans 1:11-12  -  I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong-that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17  -  May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

God wants us to encourage each other. When we are obedient to God, it can encourage other believers to do the same. When we encourage others, it can make a big difference in their lives. We should always build each other up and help others!

Thank you to all 41 guys who came to Battalion this week! Thank you to all the leaders! We hope to see all 33 of the boys back next Wednesday! I encourage you to bring another friend!

BTLN UPDATE - MIKE 23

Congrats to Jonny on his second helmet of the year! Jonny is currently tied for first in the race for Winston with Caleb at 2 helmets each. Brett and Jonny went out the same round, but Jonny made more progress across the gym, giving him the victory and the helmet! Congrats again to Jonny!

This week we played Mike 23! During the game there are 23 balls being thrown and kicked around the gym, making the game really exciting! In Mike 23 there are multiple mini games, with the scores rising and falling throughout the series of games. The team with the most points at the end wins! Luke and Matthias's teams tied with the high score, so we had to do a tie breaker. Luke and Matthias had a lightsaber battle, with Matthias taking the win! Congrats to Matthias's team!

MIKE 23 FINAL SCORES
Matthias's team - 4 +1
Luke's team - 4
Josh's team - 3
Coady's team - 1

After Mike 23, we played a game of fire, fever, flood. Brett was the winner! Congrats to Brett!

This week's Bible study topic was "do not be anxious."

Here are some Bible passages we read on the subject:

Philippians 4:6-7  -  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7  -  Cast all anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Proverbs 12:25  -  Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.

We should not be anxious because it will just bring us down. We should pray and put our trust in God. God will help us through all of our problems. Kind words can cheer up people and help them when they are anxious. We should be encouraging to others and trust God to help us. God will always be there to help you.

Thanks to all the boys and leaders who came to Battalion this week! It was an awesome night! We are back at the church for Battalion again next Wednesday! Be there, and bring a friend!

BTLN UPDATE

Congrats to Caleb on his second helmet of the Battalion season! Caleb is the first guy to win two helmets this year. This means Caleb is currently sitting in first place for Winston. Congrats again to Caleb on his helmet win!

This week we played Murderball! It's always a super fun game to play! Lance's team won the first game. Mataeus's team won the next three games, taking a significant lead. Lance's team then made the craziest comeback ever, winning the last three games! Lance's team won with a final score of 4-3.

This week's Bible study was on what we have been given by and through Christ.

Here are some of the passages we read:

Romans 3:24  -  All are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:23   -  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:17  -  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Galatians 3:26  -  So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.

Galatians 4:7  -  Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Jesus died on the cross and freed us of all sin, and made us new! When we accept Jesus as our saviour, we are made new and considered children of God, and made his heirs. We deserved death because of our sin, but God gave us a way to be saved and made new. God considers us to be his sons and daughters, and wants us in heaven with him! Praise God!

Thank you to all the boys and leaders who came to Battalion this last week! It was lots of fun! We are back at the church again this Wednesday! Bring a friend!

BTLN UPDATE - G*I*T*D BASKETBALL

Congrats Aiden! Last year's Winston champ, Aiden Burch, is back in the race with his first helmet win of the Battalion year! I'm excited to see how the Winston race will be this year! Congrats again to Aiden!

This week we played G*I*T*D Basketball! This game is always super fun to play because of the glow-in-the-dark balls and all the glowsticks. We played the game for a while, and then we decided to finish off the game with first team to three baskets. Kedir scored quickly for the blue team, with Sawyer quickly returning a basket for the orange team. Dante scored the next basket for the blue team, making the score 2-1 for blue. Matthias made the third and final basket for the blue team, claiming their victory! The final score was 3-1 for the blue team. Congrats to the blue team!

This week our Bible study topic was the Power of God.

Here are some Bible verses we read on the Power of God:

Romans 1:16  -  For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

1 Corinthians 1:18  -  For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Romans 1:20  -  For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

The Gospel and the message of the cross are the Power of God, and bring salvation to everyone who believes. Not only does God's power save us from our sins, but it also can help us through the struggles in our life. Even if we don't hear the message, we can see God's power through everything that he has created. We can have comfort knowing that God uses his Power to save us and help us through our life.

Thank you to all the boys and leaders who came to Battalion this week! We appreciate it! Battalion is back at the church again next week! Bring a friend!
