Congrats Aiden! Last year's Winston champ, Aiden Burch, is back in the race with his first helmet win of the Battalion year! I'm excited to see how the Winston race will be this year! Congrats again to Aiden!
This week we played G*I*T*D Basketball! This game is always super fun to play because of the glow-in-the-dark balls and all the glowsticks. We played the game for a while, and then we decided to finish off the game with first team to three baskets. Kedir scored quickly for the blue team, with Sawyer quickly returning a basket for the orange team. Dante scored the next basket for the blue team, making the score 2-1 for blue. Matthias made the third and final basket for the blue team, claiming their victory! The final score was 3-1 for the blue team. Congrats to the blue team!
This week our Bible study topic was the Power of God.
Here are some Bible verses we read on the Power of God:
Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
1 Corinthians 1:18 - For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Romans 1:20 - For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
The Gospel and the message of the cross are the Power of God, and bring salvation to everyone who believes. Not only does God's power save us from our sins, but it also can help us through the struggles in our life. Even if we don't hear the message, we can see God's power through everything that he has created. We can have comfort knowing that God uses his Power to save us and help us through our life.
Thank you to all the boys and leaders who came to Battalion this week! We appreciate it! Battalion is back at the church again next week! Bring a friend!
