BTLN UPDATE

Congrats John! Second Helmet of the year for John! It looked like George had the Helmet in the bag, but John broke free taking the win and the Helmet!
Kaylon is the winner of the shirt of the week! (First ever!) Bacon is always a winner!
This week we played Stickball. Usually when we play Stickball one team beats up on the others but this week it was closer. Maybe the guys are figuring out the strategy. I forgot to announce the final scores this week.

Stickball Final Scores
Devin's team - 11
Jason's team - 10
The Sedin's team - 8
Ben's team - 7

In Bible study we talked about Eternal Security. Can we be sure that we will be in Heaven? Can I know that I have eternal life?

Hebrews 2:14-15  Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the deviland free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

How can we be free from our fear of death if we don't know where we are going when we die?

1 Corinthians 6:19-20  Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

When we decided to follow Jesus we gave up ownership of ourselves. God now owns us!

1 Corinthians 12:27  Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

When we chose Jesus he made us a part of his body!

Galatians 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Christ lives in us!

2 Timothy 2:13  if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22  Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Romans 8:38-39  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 5:11-13  And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Ephesians 2:6-7  And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

We are already seated with Christ in the heavenly realms!

Philippians 3:20-21  But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

We are citizens of Heaven!

Ephesians 1:13-14  And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

We were saved by the power of God and we are kept by the power of God!

THE CAPTAIN
