BTLN UPDATE - FIRST NIGHT

First Night of the 2012/13 Btln 3739 season is in the books! What a night! I am never sure what to expect, but this time First Night exceeded all of my expectations! 30 men studying God's Word and throwing balls at each other!

So many good things happened this week, first off, Congrats to Cody for his B-dog/Helmet win! First Yorkie of the year!

8 grade sevens showed up! (God has provided us with a bunch of guys with huge potential!)

Nathan Ball showed up unannounced and let us know that he would be in G.F. this year and would be able to help at Btln this year! J-man is back! Bent is also back! God always provides!

New Sergeant at Btln 3739! Congrats GeRRald!(Week three we will have the official induction with the Sergeant Jersey.)

The Btln Bus is almost full for the football trip. (One seat left.)

This week we played Murderball, I forgot how much I love Murderball, so much fun!(And my team lost!) I could play Murderball every week!

Our theme this year is going to be "The history of the world" or  "His Story".
We started with Creation.(Where else would we start?)
(Genesis 1:1-31, Genesis 2:1-3, Job chapters 38-41)

It is so important for us to know that Jesus is the Creator and Sustainer of all creation!
Jesus didn't just create the world and then step back and watch it fall apart! He holds the universe together with his mighty hand! It is so comforting to know that Jesus is in control!

Colossians 1:15-17  He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Hebrews 1:3  The Son (Jesus) is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.

Psalm 148:1-13

 Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord from the heavens,
praise him in the heights above.
 Praise him, all his angels,
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
 Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, all you shining stars.
 Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for he commanded and they were created.
 He set them in place for ever and ever;
he gave a decree that will never pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
stormy winds that do his bidding,
 you mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars,
 wild animals and all cattle,
small creatures and flying birds,
kings of the earth and all nations,
you princes and all rulers on earth,
 young men and maidens,
old men and children.

Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

Next week is the Pool Party at Abe's house!  Come out early to get more time in the pool.
(around 6:30)

Bring a friend!
