BTLN UPDATE

I can't explain this floor hockey thing that is going on at Battalion. We bought new nets and sticks, but figured that Stockade would be the ones that would be using them. It turns out that a lot of the young guys at Battalion are into floor hockey. It is a good way to start the night, not that we have to play floor hockey every week but it is good to change things up.
There were a lot of guys this week, at least ten more than last week(35-40?). Not sure why there were more guys out but we are thankful for everyone that God brings to Battalion. Lets pray that God will bring more boys so that we can teach them God's word!
It was Owen's turn to encourage us from God's word. He talked about following God through the good times and the bad. Owen referred to the story of Job and how he stayed true to God even though he lost everything.

2Timothy 2:1-3 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

There are times in life when we will need to endure hardship. That is why we need to first be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, so that we can endure hardship with God's help.
Nathan has been asking(begging)to play Mike 23(There are not 23 versions of Mike, it is just that we are not sure if it is Mike 2 or 3 so we call it 23)the whole year, this week we finally gave in. There are five large exercise balls, four quadrants, four teams and six mini games. You have to keep the balls out of your quadrant or keep them in your quadrant depending on which mini game we are playing. There is a lot of chaos involved in this game, anywhere else this would be a problem but at Battalion.... well you know. After Mike we played one round of fire, fever, flood. Kevin and Nathan were the final two with Nathan winning(I faked Kevin out and he fell to the ground).
The Bulldog is intense every week but it seems more so as we get closer to the end of the 08/09 season. Guys are teaming up to catch the guys that are leading the race for Winston. Drew was caught early so he made sure that the rest of his competition didn't have a chance to win. I love the strategy that is involved when we play Bulldog. Kaleb outlasted everyone to win his first helmet of the year. Congrats Kaleb!(Kinda surprising that this was Kaleb's first win)
