TOP FIFTY PICS ROUND 6
The first picture is at the Pines, it was one of the first campouts at the Pines.(we haven't done that for a few years)
The second picture doesn't take much explaining, double grandpa! The dripping grease is awesome!
The third picture was from the first time that we went to Creation. Apparently we were overwhelmed, we only took five pictures.
The last picture is Jason wearing his sleeping bag in the truck on the way to Creation. The sleeping bag fell out of the back of the truck so we made him wear it.(the first year it was his back pack that fell out of the back of the truck)
Enjoy the pics! Meet the Btln Nation with Brad Pauls coming soon!

I bought myself a new tent, and don't ask me how, but it got me thinking about the temple of God. When the Israelites were living in the wilderness, the temple had to be a tent because they were always moving around. It was a tent but don't think for a moment that God was camping like we do at the Maylong, the temple (tabernacle) was amazing. The Israelites used 1 ton of gold and 3.5 tons of silver on the temple!(Exodus 38:21-31) Once the Israelites had been living in the land that God had promised them (after almost 500 years) God gave King Solomon plans for a permanent building.(1 Kings 6:1-37) This temple was even more amazing than the tent had been. So where am I going with this? After the cross God decided that he would dwell in the hearts of those who would believe in him.
Ephesians 2:19-22 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
2 Corinthians 6:16b For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
1 Corinthians 3:16,17 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
1 Corinthians 6:19,20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
Isn't it amazing that the Creator of the Universe wants to live in our hearts? We can say with Solomon "But will God really dwell on the earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built.(1 Kings 8:27) God who lives in heaven and made his dwelling in those beautiful temples has chosen to live in our hearts! Lets live our lives in such a way that our bodies are a place fit for the King!

P.O.W.
Sunday was Fathers day and it got me thinking about God the Father. So I thought that I would share a few passages about our Father.
2 Corinthians 1:3,4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
Does this sound like your father? Not likely, most Dads are not very good at compassion and comfort. Thankfully we have a heavenly Father that will be able to comfort us when life isn't going so good. God our Father will always be there to listen to our problems and he will always be interested.
2 Thessalonians 2:16,17 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
Lets take stock of everything that God our Father has given us. He has given us compassion, comfort, love, encouragement and hope. In Galatians 4:1-7 we are told that God has also made us heirs, there is an inheritance waiting for us in Heaven! What else could we ask for?
1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
Think about it, we are children of God, that is awesome!
Psalm 68:4,5 Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds - his name is the Lord - and rejoice before him. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
Isn't that the kind of father that you want? He protects those that are vulnerable. He is the Father to the fatherless and a defender of widows! Lets be thankful for our Father and everything that he has done for us!

TOP FIFTY BTLN PICTURES
We have completed thirty years at Battalion 3739 so I thought that I would pick my thirty favourite pictures from Battalion. Problem was I couldn't narrow it down to thirty so I decided to pick fifty. Most of the pictures are from the last ten years because we didn't take that many pictures the first twenty years.(digital cameras fixed that)Anyways they are not in any order I just thought that I would post them four at a time. Enjoy!

PASSAGE O THE WEEK
Grad and this picture from Devin's grad party had me thinking of all of the guys that have gone through Battalion and where they are now. It is exciting to see how everybody has grown! With this in mind I found this passage.
Philippians 1:3-6 I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
I can say with Paul that every time I think of the guys and all the memories that I am thankful. We should be thankful for our brothers in Christ! The next two verses talk about prayer, Paul quite often talks about how he was praying for different people. We should continue to pray for each other and when we do this prayer will bring us joy.
Getting a chance to watch guys grow up and become partners in the gospel is awesome. This is why we have Battalion.
Finally we need to remember who started the good work in us. God started the work and he will finish it. Isn't it good to know that God is the one that is at work in your life? You know that the Creator of the Universe is going to do a good job. God is just getting started in our lives, there is so much more that he wants to do!
Just one final passage to help us through the week, enjoy!
Philippians 1:9-11 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God.

DEVIN REPRESENTS!
Devin built on the tradition that Jason started last year! It would take alot of courage to carry a flag at your grad, especially one that had "Bright and keen for Christ" written on it! Way to go Devin, I was very proud! I geuss there is a lot of pressure on next years sergeant to do the same. Anyways these pictures are going straight into the ark. Good job Devin,(and as Bent would say)we here at the blog salute you!

PINES BIBLE CAMP
Not sure what you want to do this summer? Why not spend a week at the Pines? A week at the Pines can be a life changing experience, I totally recommend it! I spent many summers at the Pines and have so many good memories. There are so many fun things to do and so many things to learn. Battalion is well represented up at the Pines, alot of the staff at the Pines are Btln Alumni. Blake Chursinoff, Ryley Heppner, Kenny Johnson, Ben Jepsen, Tyler Francis and Dalton Erixon will all be spending the summer at the camp.(hope I didn't miss anyone) I'm not sure how full any of these camps are but you probably shouldn't wait too long. If money is a problem there are funds for families that can't afford to send their kids.
For more information go to the Pines website. www.pinesbiblecamp.com
You can also come to O.K. Tire to pick up a brochure.
CAMP
4 Kids Camp ages 10-12 August 11-16
5 Kids Camp ages 11-13 July 21-26
