2010 DIRECTOR'S CUP - THE DRIVE FOR FIVE!
So preparations for the 2010 Director's Cup are under way! We will be traveling to Vancouver on October 16th for the 6th annual Director's Cup. We will also be attending a B.C. Lions game. The Lions will be playing the Toronto Argonauts at old Empire Field. I was at a game this last weekend and Empire is amazing! The Lions are not very good but being able to watch a game at Empire is worth the price of admission. I have also booked the Presidential Suite at the Best Western in Abbotsford. We should all be able to sleep in this suite, it is huge! Anyways, time to start dreaming about the 2010 Director's Cup!

BTLN BIRTHDAYS - AUGUST
It is now August and that means that it is only a month until Battalion is back! So many things need to happen before September. Summer is nearly as busy as the rest of the year. Anyways it is time to honor all those in the Btln Nation that have birthdays this month.
1 Thessalonians 5:23,24 - May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

CREATION 2010, THE WRAP
It has been a been a week now so I figured it was time to wrap this thing up.(I am almost recovered, not unpacked though.) We started out on Tuesday afternoon after d-Pod finally made his way over to Jepsen's.(Bent dubbed David thorn after he showed up late.) The border was our first stop with the Kelowna Germans paying their 6 dollar fee to get into the U.S., not sure why they need to pay a fee or why it is only six dollars but anyways next up was Colville Wal-Mart for our grocery run. Ten loaves of bread, six flats of water, five packages of Menno, 12 cans of chili, 6 gallons of Hawaiian Punch, 12 bags of chips and six packages of ham later(amongst other things)we headed to Spokane for supper at Red Robin. New discovery, Red Robin in the U.S. has bottomless root beer floats! After a quick stop at the Sports Authority it was time to get back on the road as it was going to be at least two hours longer to Seattle than it had been to the Gorge. It was hard to drive past the Gorge and not stop, especially because it was getting dark but we kept on rolling. We arrived at Enumclaw(the new sight for Creation, it is on the outskirts of Seattle)around midnight and had to set up our tents in the dark after a long day of driving. In the morning we finished setting up and then had some time to relax before we headed over to the Main Stage for the first concert of the week. Wednesday afternoon there was a lot of wrestling and crib. Drew went undefeated the whole week, although he didn't wrestle Dan. David Crowder and Switchfoot started the week, it was awesome to see Switchfoot again after missing them last year. Thursday was Manafest, House of Heroes, Group 1 Crew, The Classic Crime, Hillsong and the Newsboys. We gave a Btln Medallion to Matt, Justin and Robbie from The Classic Crime. Matt was very cool about it, as were Justin and Robbie, one of the best reactions we have ever had. Ryley was pumped for Hillsong, it lived up to expectations(am I right Ryley?) and Newsboys was sweet! There wasn't a rotating drum set, but the two movable stages that swung out over the crowd were amazing. They also had KJ come out and sing the rap in Jesus Freak for the finale, very cool! Friday we saw B.Reith, KJ-52, John Mark McMillan, Thousand Foot Krutch, TobyMac and Audio Adrenaline. We added to the list of honorary Btln members on Friday when we gave Trevor and Steve from Thousand Foot Krutch each a Medallion, they were also very cool about it. B.Reith and KJ were a lot of fun and Krutch was crazy. Toby never disappoints, the stage has always got something going on, there are ten people on the stage! We finished Friday with Audio A. at the late night stage, loved hearing the old time songs.(It was Ryleys favourite concert of the whole week.) Saturday we finished the crib tourney and Zach lost for the second year in a row. The free hug shirt is going to be permanently his if he doesn't start winning. Brian"Head"Welch, Needtobreathe, Tenth Avenue North and Skillet finished the week. After watching Skillet last year I was wondering if they could live up to the expectations this year. Well it wasn't a problem, Skillet once again put on a memorable show, it was a good way to end the festival! Sunday was more driving and another stop at Red Robin and then back to G.F., it was one of the best Creation Festivals I have been to!
Enjoy the set lists!

CREATION FEST 2010 "MAIN STAGE EDITION"
Well Creation fest is tomorrow! Can you believe it? man i can't wait to get going! its gonna be rad! but i thought i would give you all a heads up on what you are going to get to see or what you get to miss! ;) in order of what i think will be the best show, to not the best show on this years main stage!
1. Switchfoot

These guys bring a show like no other, though Toby Mac and Skillet will bring a crazy show, i believe over all Switchfoot has the better music and will have (fingers crossed) some new stuff to show us this time around. its been awhile since we have seen these boys and they will be kicking off the week for us! i predict an amazing show from our boys!
2. Toby Mac

There is no show like Toby Mac's. He is simply amazing! Every part of his show is amazing, and there is no way to catch everything that is going on. Toby was absent last year as well and I know that we are all looking forward to some Toby Mac in our lives! look for Toby to bring one of the best if not the best shows of the week!
3. Skillet

Now i am not the worlds biggest skillet fan, i have always enjoyed their music and who doesn't like violin and hard rock? These guys were the surprise of the year at Creation Fest 2007 (i believe it was 2007). They have a show that always involves explosives and fire which are two of my most favorite things, as well as a small Asian man playing violin! so all in all they have a wicked awesome show! This Year these boys have the opportunity to close out the year and to be honest its been a couple of years since the last real good ending to the week as far as bands go! So i have high expectations, but i think they will pull through. (Plus they have a female drummer which is pretty rad too...just sayin')
4. Newsboys

Newsboys went from the meat and potatoes at Creation to not much of anything at all. This is their chance to prove to Creation Fest that they deserve that last night show again. However i have no idea what to expect. Not only did their last showing at Creation Fest suck, they have a new frontman Michael Tait. the potential is high, yet im not sure how high my hopes should be. It is Newsboys, arguably the greatest Christian Rock Band ever, but are they slowly dieing? Time will tell. All i have to say is they better have a rotating drum kit!
5. Thousand Foot Krutch

Because of the no show last year (due to Trev's appendix exploding), i am pretty excited to see TFK this year at Creation Fest. I have seen TFK live more than any other band and the last time i saw them i was most impressed. Now that Creation Fest finally has it right and has scheduled them for a night show I think TFK will truly rock the show and possibly work their way to ending off one of the nights! they play before Toby and I expect big things for our Canadian home boys!
6. Hillsong LIVE

Because we have only seen them once and it was in the morning i believe that Hillsong will be a great surprise to the talent this week. They have energy, they have great music, and they are a lot of fun! opening for newsboys will make for a good combo and im looking forward to seeing these guys play!
7. Need To Breathe

These guys are quickly becoming one of my favorites. They have been to Creation in the past but we have never really gone together to see them! i would say it would be worth our awhile to check them out this year. i dont expect some crazy show but i i do expect some great music!
8. KJ-52

To get my rap fix i will be relying on my man KJ. Without John Reu this year KJ is the next best thing. I am looking for some fun KJ style songs with some goofy stage tricks and jokes. KJ is pretty rad and i may have to get my rap dancing shoes on for his show. (i actually own rap dancing shoes!).
9. John Mark McMillan

When it comes to worship music and bands, I am no expert and i don't run to get the newest worship bands, however when it comes to John Mark McMillan its a bit different. John has some sweet tracks and i cant wait to see them live. again i am not going for entertainment but more so to hear some great music! He will be worth checking out for sure!
well thats my over view for this year. I would say that David Crowder and 10th Avenue North shoul make this list, but im tired of David and i have never heard 10th avenue North so we will see what happens! I'm sure there will be surprises and im excited to see what Creation Fest 2010 has in store for us! Seeya soon Creation Fest!

BULLDOG MUSIC REVIEWS "CREATION FEST 2010 FRINGE STAGE EDITION"
Well i cant believe it but creation fest 2010 is just around the corner! And i for one am stoked not only for the btln boys who are going but for the awesome bands we will be seeing. lets start by taking a look at what the fringe stage has for us! (in order from best to worst...in my opinion)
1. The Classic Crime

This band in my opinion will put on the best show when it comes to the fringe stage. I can't imagine that The Classic Crime will remain on the fringe if they continue the way they are and i am kinda surprised they didn't make it to the main stage this year, however in the long run it may be better to have them on the fringe! If you are a fan of music you will enjoy these guys!
2. House of Heroes

I had the chance to see these guys a few times, but the last time i saw them at YQ this year i was quite shocked at how good they were! they love playing music and they have a great time on stage. i got to meet them and they seem as though they would fit in with our group as though they were our friends forever, just some normal guys who play music. im looking forward to seeing them play their new stuff and fingers crossed for some beatles covers!
3. B. Reith

I have to be honest, the first time i heard this guy i really didn't like him. then i heard a few more of his tracks last year live and i became a fan. Hes a pretty rad guy, really funny, and he has a style of music i just want to dance to. im sure me and zombie will be hitting his show up!
4. Group One Crew

funny enough these guys played right after HOH at YQ this year. they bring a similar style/energy as Toby Mac does which is a lot of fun. they are all pretty good rappers and Blanca Reyes has some pretty sweet vocals! these guys would be cool to catch if you are a rap fan!
As for the rest of the bands on the fringe, i either dont care or have never heard them! But dont get me wrong im always up for a live show, so if any of the btln guys think i am missing someone then let me know, otherwise this is what i think the best of the fringe stage is this year!
