BTLN UPDATE

Congrats Josh! This is Josh's second Helmet of the Btln Year! It was an epic battle this week between Josh and Deshawn! There were five rounds with the final two, before Josh outgained Deshawn on the final round to take the win!

This week we played Murderball for only the second time this year. Before we got going, I thought that my team looked like the stronger of the two, but I was definitely wrong. Ben's team won the night, winning the series 3-1!

In our Bible Study this week, we took a look at Samson.

Judges 13:1-5   Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, so the Lord delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.
A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had a wife who was childless, unable to give birth. The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son. Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean. You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”

God picked Samson to deliver his people from the hands of the Philistines, even before he was born! This got me thinking about the amazing things that God has picked for us to accomplish for him, even before we were born! We will not be given super strength like Samson, but God has equipped us to complete the tasks that he has put before us!

2 Timothy 3:16-17   All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Ephesians 4:11-13   So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Hebrews 13:20-21   Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
