BTLN UPDATE - FIRST NIGHT

Congrats Deshawn! Deshawn has the first Helmet of the 2018/19 Btln season! Josh was there at the end with Deshawn, but was not able to gain as much yardage as Deshawn on the last round.

I'm not sure if we have ever played anything other than Murderball on First Night and this year was not any different! After five rounds the score was tied at two games a piece. My team won the final game winning the series 3-2! I love winning, and winning on First Night is even better.

In Bible Study we started the year with a study on Hope. I want Battalion to be a place where we can all come to find Hope!

1 Peter 1:3-4   Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,

We have a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead! But what is our hope?

Colossians 1:26-27   The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Titus 3:4-7   But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

1 Thessalonians 5:8   But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

So the Hope that we have is Salvation from sin, Eternal Life and Christ living in us!

Hebrews 6:17-19   Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

This hope is an anchor for our soul, firm and secure!
