BTLN UPDATE

Congrats Mike! This was Mike's second Helmet of the Btln Season! When we were down to the final two, Caleb close lined Mike! Mike was flat on his back! I don't think I have ever seen anyone go down that fast in Bulldog! Close lining is not legal, so Mike was given a pass on that round. Kolton and Mike went one more round. Mike was able to stay on his feet, and win his second Helmet of the Btln Season!

The Btln game of the week was Glow In The Dark Basketball! This is a game that we only play one or two times a year, so when we play it, it is a novelty. It is hard to keep track of the score when there are two balls and the lights are off, but I think the score was close for most of the game. After our eyes were adjusted to the dark we reset the game and played first to five baskets. Kaylon's team was up 3-0 early, but Deshawn's team clawed back to tie the score at 3-3! In the end, Kaylon's team was too much for Deshawn's team, winning 5-3!

In Bible study our topic was "The way of transgressors is hard."

Proverbs 13:5   The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked make themselves a stench and bring shame on themselves.

Proverbs 13:6   Righteousness guards the person of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.

Proverbs 13:9   The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.

Proverbs 13:15   Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

Proverbs 13:21   Trouble pursues the sinner, but the righteous are rewarded with good things.

Galatians 6:7-8   Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

These verses paint a very sad picture of the life of a transgressor (sinner). Life is hard enough, we don't need to make bad choices that will make life even more difficult for us.

Ephesians 2:1-5   As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Thanks to God for his great love and mercy that saved us when we were dead in our transgressions! We don't have to live the life of a transgressor anymore! We can be alive in Christ!
