BTLN UPDATE

Congrats Keegan! This was Keegan's first Helmet of the Btln season! The final two in Bulldog were two of our bigger guys in Btln! I'm not sure that I want to step in front of Keegan or Dylan when we are playing British Bulldog! On the last round, Keegan gained a few more yards than Dylan, winning the Yorkie and the Helmet!

This week at Btln we added the Mike 23 Balls to Murderball! I'm not sure if we will call it Murderball 23 or Murderball Defender, but it was a lot of fun! We used the Mike 23 balls only to block or to distract the other team. If you were hit with one of the Mike 23 balls you were still alive. As I anticipated, the game took a lot longer to play with the Mike 23 balls. In fact, we only played one game before we ran out of time! The one game must have taken about 20-25 minutes! Ben's team was able win the inaugural game of Murderball 23!

In Bible study our topic was "Victory in Jesus" or "Remembrance Day".

This week in Canada, we are remembering the soldiers that were willing to sacrifice there lives so that we could live in freedom.

John 15:13   Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Romans 5:7-8   Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus was also willing to lay his life down so that we could have freedom!

Romans 6:17-18   But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57   When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus has defeated sin and death! He has also given us victory over sin and death!

Colossians 2:13-15   When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Jesus has triumphed over powers, authorities, sin and death by the cross! He is the Victor!
