BTLN UPDATE

Congrats Dane! This was Dane's first Helmet ever! I love it when one of the guys wins the Helmet for the first time! So exciting! Congrats again Dane!

This week we played Handball for what will probably be the last time this year. When I first saw the teams I was not sure what the game would be like. It was a very close, evenly matched game. Even when Devin arrived late and was added to Ben's team and then traded to mine, the game remained close throughout. With the score tied at 16 we went to overtime, Ben's team scoring the last goal and taking the win!

In Bible study our topic was love the brotherhood.

Romans 12:10-13   Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Galatians 6:10   Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

1 Peter 2:17   Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

1 Thessalonians 5:17   Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

These passages tell us that we need to love and encourage all men, especially those that belong to the family of God!

Romans 12:4-5   For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

If we are one body in Christ, then we desperately need Christ and each other. Not one part of the body can survive on its own, and neither can we!

Hebrews 10:23-25   Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

This last passage summarizes what we were trying to learn. We need to spend more time together so that we can encourage each other to love and serve God!
