BTLN UPDATE

Congrats Ben! This is Ben's third Helmet of the Btln Season! At the end it was Tyson and Ben battling it out for the Helmet. Ben outgained Tyson on the last round to take the win and the Helmet! So many tough battles during Bulldog.

This week we played Handball for probably the last time this year. (It is sad to be nearing the end of another Btln year.) Ben's team was up by one goal for almost the entire game. Every time my team would score, Ben's team would also score. At the end Ben's team pulled away, beating us 19-14. My team did score the "last goal", but after losing for most of the game, it was of little consolation.

In Bible study this week we talked about having an sense of urgency for the lost. It is so easy to be distracted by the things around us. Work, school and media are just a few of the things that can distract us. We need to be focused on those around us that still have not accepted God's free gift of salvation. God has left us on earth to be his ambassadors.

2 Corinthians 5:20   We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Paul had that sense of urgency for the lost that we all should have. Notice his choice of words, "We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God."

Ephesians 5:15-16   Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Colossians 4:5-6   Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

We need to take advantage of every opportunity that God gives us to share our faith with the lost.

1 Peter 3:15   But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

We need to have a sense of urgency, but we also have to remember to be gracious in the way we talk the lost. We don't need to convince anyone, God is the one that will show the lost their need for a Savior!

2 Corinthians 6:2b   I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
