BTLN UPDATE
Congrats Lukas! Lukas won the Helmet for the sixth time this year! With four weeks left to go Lukas has a 2 Helmet lead in the race for Winston! Jonathan and Lukas were there at the end, Lukas outlasting Jonathan for the win.
This week we played S*A*M. I think it could also be called T*R*O*N. I am not about to change the name of any of the games that we play, but all of the glow sticks and glow in the dark Murderballs that we use for S*A*M remind me a lot of Tron. S*A*M is visually awesome. It is always better than how I remembered it. For the first time this year I was on Ben's team. Apparently we are a deadly combo. Ben's team beat Jason's team 3 times in a row! I guess I will have to split us up next time.
In Bible study this week our topic was "Friends".
Proverbs 13:20 Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.
If we spend time most of our time with people who are making good choices then we will also make good choices. If we spend most of our time with those that are making bad decisions then we will have trouble.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Who is wise? Those that fear the Lord!
Psalm 119:63-64 I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts. The earth is filled with your love, Lord; teach me your decrees.
We need to be a friend of all those that fear God. This does not mean that we should not be a friend of those that have not yet accepted God's forgiveness. After all, Jesus was called a friend of sinners.
Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
This passage sums up how we should treat others and how we should spend our time. We need to do good (or spend our time with) to all people, especially those that belong to the family of God.
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
We have been left on this earth to tell people about what our best friend did for us! Jesus showed the greatest outpouring of love possible when he died for our sins!
Battalion will resume after spring break. April 8th at the high school field for Football and Pop N Dogs! (6:30-8:30 p.m.) Drop off and pick up will both be at the high school field.

BTLN UPDATE
Congrats Ben! This is Ben's third Helmet of the Btln Season! At the end it was Tyson and Ben battling it out for the Helmet. Ben outgained Tyson on the last round to take the win and the Helmet! So many tough battles during Bulldog.
This week we played Handball for probably the last time this year. (It is sad to be nearing the end of another Btln year.) Ben's team was up by one goal for almost the entire game. Every time my team would score, Ben's team would also score. At the end Ben's team pulled away, beating us 19-14. My team did score the "last goal", but after losing for most of the game, it was of little consolation.
In Bible study this week we talked about having an sense of urgency for the lost. It is so easy to be distracted by the things around us. Work, school and media are just a few of the things that can distract us. We need to be focused on those around us that still have not accepted God's free gift of salvation. God has left us on earth to be his ambassadors.
2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
Paul had that sense of urgency for the lost that we all should have. Notice his choice of words, "We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God."
Ephesians 5:15-16 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Colossians 4:5-6 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
We need to take advantage of every opportunity that God gives us to share our faith with the lost.
1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
We need to have a sense of urgency, but we also have to remember to be gracious in the way we talk the lost. We don't need to convince anyone, God is the one that will show the lost their need for a Savior!
2 Corinthians 6:2b I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
S*A*M next week at Btln!

BTLN UPDATE
Congrats Keegan! Keegan has his first ever Btln Helmet! Keegan is a beast to take down! I predict many more Helmets in his future! Jonathan, Nate, Ben and Noah were all there at the end with Keegan. It was a tough finish, nearly all the big bodies were there at the end.
Congrats also goes out to Stephan! Stephan is the 25th Member of Btln 3739 to complete the Memory Work! Stephan is the first Member to finish the Memory Work this year and book his trip to Creation 2015!
This week we played Murderball for probably the second last time this year! The games were close, but that doesn't make losing feel any better. My team lost the first three games, before winning the forth to break the shutout.
In Bible study our topic was submission to authorities.
Romans 13:1-5 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
There were several things that we learned in our study.
1) God has established all authorities.
2) If we rebel against the authorities that God has out into place then we are also rebelling against God.
3) If we want to be free from fear of those in authority we need to do what is right.
4) Authorities are God's servants to do us good.
5) Parents, teachers, police, employers and pastors are just some of the authorities that God has placed over us.
6) There is one exception to the rule. When the authorities contradict the Word of God.
Acts 4:19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges!
Acts 5:29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!
On the whole however, submitting to authorities is good for us. Most of the rules that have been put into place are there to protect us.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
If we can learn to submit to God then submitting to the other authorities in our lives will be become more natural.

BTLN UPDDATE - BRIGADE NIGHT 2015
Congrats to Jakob! Jakob is the 2015 Btln Ping Pong Champion! Lukas and Jakob treated us to an epic Ping Pong Final! Lukas won the first two games and was up 11-10 in the third game, but Jakob was able to battle back to take the third game 13-11! The fourth and fifth games were both close, Jakob barely beating his brother. Both Jakob and Lukas played like Champions. Jakob now has back to back to back Ping Pong titles! That's right, three in a row! Look out Calvin Peters!
Earlier in the night we had seven guys reciting Memory Work! Seven guys reciting scripture is a new Brigade Night record! I am so proud of everyone of these guys that had the courage to get up on the stage and recite scripture! With the passage Stephan recited he completed the Memory work! Stephen has surpassed 200 points! Congrats Stephen! Stephen will receive his Btln Medallion on Wednesday Night!
