9TH ANNUAL BTLN ALUMNI

It was the Ninth Btln Alumni Night and the fifth time that we have given a Sergeant Jersey at Alumni Night. Justin Bekker was the 14th Sergeant to receive his Sergeant Jersey in our "One forward and one back" Sergeant Jersey program! So proud that Justin was and still is a part of Btln 3739! Justin served as Sergeant for a year and a half. (September 2000 - January 2002)

Justin was also one of two men that we inducted into the Btln Ring of Honour! Every second year we will be adding to the Ring of Honour. This year we added Justin Bekker and Ryley Heppner. Two years ago Dan Trithardt had his name inducted into the Ring of Honor but was not able to attend Alumni Night. This year Ryley was unable to attend Alumni Night. So this year we gave Dan and Justin their Ring of Honor mugs! I just love the Sergeant Jerseys and the Ring of Honor! So many good men in Btln 3739, so many good examples! These men are proof that the Truth that we are teaching at Btln truly makes a difference when put into practice!

Hebrews 12:1-2   Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

We played 8 games of Murderball! I just love Murderball at Alumni! (So many head shots!) My team dominated early, it was 3-1. After 6 games Jeremy's team battled back to tie the series 3-3. My team would not be denied the win, taking the next two games and winning the best of nine series 5-3!

According to Btln Alumni tradition, the current Sergeant is in the middle for Bulldog. This has to be a little intimidating! Jonathan definitely rose to the challenge! It wasn't long before we only had Parker and Drew left. On the last round Drew gained more yards than Parker, taking the win and the Yorkie! Congrats Drew!

So many highlights this year. One of my favourites was listening to all the men say the Btln watchword together at the end of the night! It was spine tingling! I wish I could revisit that moment in time! So amazing!

After the gym we moved the party to Bruce and Katie's. I am so thankful to Bruce and Katie for inviting us into their house each and every year!

I am also thankful that so many guys made time for Btln Alumni Night. Christmas is a busy time of year and the roads can be dangerous. Thanks to all the came out to Alumni Night 2014!
