BTLN UPDATE



Congrats Noah! This was Noah's first Helmet of the year. Noah was second or third nearly every week this year! It was only a matter of time before Noah would win his first Helmet of the 2014/15 Btln Season! Nate was there at the end, but Noah would not be denied this time!

23 Balls and 30 boys playing Mike 23 this week at Btln!  Mike 23 is as much fun as it is chaotic! There are balls and bodies flying everywhere! So much fun! The lead changed hands nearly every round, it was awesome!

In Bible study we looked at the story of Paul and Silas in prison in Philippi. (Acts 16:16-34)

Acts 16:22-24   The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.

Paul and Silas were badly beaten and thrown into prison for serving God. You would think that Paul and Silas would have been questioning God, but instead they were praising God!

Acts 16:25   About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Paul and Silas reacted this way because they had the peace of God!

Philippians 4:6-7   Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The peace of God comes from a knowledge of the Scriptures. When we understand God's plan for our lives, and what he has in store for us, we will have greater peace in our lives. The question is, what did Paul and Silas know that gave them peace?

Philippians 3:20-21   But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Ephesians 2:6-7   And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:3   Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Ephesians 3:20-21   Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Paul and Silas knew that even though they were in prison, that they were actually seated in the heavenly realms! Paul and Silas also knew that God was going to bless them more than they could ask or imagine! These truths apply to all of us that have accepted God's free gift! God not only gives us salvation, he also blesses us and gives us his peace!
