BTLN UPDATE

Congrats to Ben! This is Ben's first Helmet of the year! Finally someone other than Jonathan, Luke or Nate winning the Helmet! At the end it was Ben and Noah fighting for the Helmet. Both Ben and Noah were stopped on the last round, but Ben gained five yards more forward progress than Noah.

This week we played the Trifecta. We started with Handball. Ben's team was up 3-1, 4-2 and 6-4 but my team battled back to win 8-6! (Great goaltending again at both ends! Ben and Noah at one end and Jake and Tyson at the other end.) Next we played Murderball. My team won the first game and Ben's team won the second game, setting up a third and final game! The last game was the closest of the three that we played, but in the end it was my team taking the win and the Trifecta! (I'm on a winning streak this year!)

This week in Bible study we talked about "Peace with God" and the "Peace of God". In Romans chapter five we find out that we were sinners, ungodly and God's enemies before we accepted God's forgiveness!

Romans 5:6   You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

Romans 5:8   But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:10   For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

As God's enemies we needed peace with God! We can have forgiveness and peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Romans 5:1-2   Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.

Once we have made peace with God we can receive God's peace to help us in our time of need!

Romans 15:13   May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 3:15   Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

2 Thessalonians 3:16   Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

Philippians 4:6-7   Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

With God's peace we don't have to be anxious about anything!
