This week was Zach's last night. Why you ask? Zach is going to Mongolia with YWAM after some training in Alaska.

The night started with Soccer and "Pop n Dogs". I don't ever remember playing soccer at Btln but it is definitely worth repeating. Jake, David and Luke dominated the game destroying my team 7-3. The game wasn't close but was still a lot of fun!

We ended soccer a little early so that we could have grad ceremonies for Zach. First Zach received his copy of the motto. The response is always the same....shock.(I love the reaction that we get from the grads after they read the motto.)
Next we presented Zach with Winston! Zach had been close to winning in the past but was not going to be denied this year! Congrats Zach! After Winston it was time to give Zach his Bible. I love this tradition, what else could we give to the grads that could mean as much? Congrats Zach! We here at the blog salute you!

Nathan was next to be honored. Nathan completed the Memory Work so he needed his Btln Medallion! Congrats Nathan! We here at the blog salute you!(A lot of saluting going on!)

This week we did our finished our series "Entrust to Reliable Men". This year we have looked at Job, Abel, Abraham, Daniel, Noah, Isaac, Moses, David, Joseph, Solomon, Caleb, Jonathan, Timothy, Paul, Peter, Samson, Jeremiah, Gideon and Jesus(Christmas and Easter).
We read through some of Hebrews 11 this week. Hebrews 11 was a good summary for our series "Entrust to Reliable Men".

Here are some of the passages we highlighted.

Hebrews 11:1-2 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:13a & 16b All these people were still living by faith when they died. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God.

Hebrews 11:32-38 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison. They were stoned; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground.

We finished with this next passage. It is true of all the men that we looked at. I hope and pray that it is also true of Battalion 3739! (The great cloud of witnesses.)

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

After Bible study it was time for Bulldog. This Wednesday was focused on our grads and it continued in Bulldog when Nathan won his 5th Helmet of the year! Congrats Nathan!

Next week is the Btln Masters! Bring a friend!
