WINSTON - THE REPLICA

 

 

What do Winston and the Stanley Cup have in common? Each has authenticated and replica versions! Most people don't realize that there are actually three Stanley Cups, the original bowl that was made in 1893(it is in the vault at the Hockey Hall of Fame), the authenticated version that was made in 1963(this is the one that the Stanley Cup Champions carry around on the ice) and the replica that was made in 1993(this one is used as a stand-in at the Hockey Hall of Fame whenever the authentic Cup is not available for display). We had the opportunity to purchase a second Winston, and there was no way we were going to let that opportunity slip away. This way the winner can keep him longer and if anything were to happen to him we would still have a copy. And besides it is awesome to have a second Winston! The original Winston was purchased on December 16 2007 and the replica was purchased on June 22 2009.
