BTLN UPDATE - G*I*T*D BASKETBALL

Congratulations to Kedir on his second helmet of the year! Andrew and Aiden were also there at the end with Kedir, but Kedir was the only one to make it to the wall during the final round. This gave Kedir the helmet and the win! Congrats again to Kedir!

This week we played G*I*T*D Basketball! This game is always super fun to play because of the glow-in-the-dark balls. We played for a while, then we went to a game of first to five. Coady's team had the lead the whole time, with Matthias's team keeping the score close. Coady's team finally won with a score of 5-3.

This week our Bible study topic was Compassion.

Here are some Bible verses we read on the topic of compassion:

Matthew 9:35-36  -  Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Matthew 15:32  -  Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way."

2 Peter 3:9  -  The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Jesus had compassion for all the people in these passages. He felt sorry for the people, wanting to help them in their time of need. God had compassion for all of us, even though we've all sinned. He doesn't want any of us to die, but for all of us to come to repentance. He gives us another chance because of his love and compassion for us.

Thanks to all the boys and leaders who came to Battalion this week! It was another great Battalion night! Remember, Battalion is like Heaven, there's always room for one more! So bring a friend next week!
