BTLN UPDATE

Congrats Keegan! This was Keegan's second Helmet of the Btln Season! Dane was there at the end with Keegan and probably should have been down earlier, but Dane was able to break through the grip of five guys to live on for another round! Keegan was just to strong to be taken down. With everyone focusing on Keegan, we finally got him to the ground.

This week we played Handball. My team was up 9-5 early on, but we were unable to hold onto the lead. Ben's team clawed back, tying the game at 12. Tyson held my team in the game keeping it close especially when Ben's team made their move. We went to the traditional next goal wins, and it didn't take long before Isaac scored the winner for Ben's team! The final score was 15-14.

In the Bible study our topic was God's grace.

Romans 5:20 - 6:2   The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

This passage tells us that no matter how great our sin is, that God's grace is greater! This does not mean however that we have a license to sin. (How can we live in sin any longer?)

Ephesians 1:7-8   In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.

The forgiveness of our sins is because of God's grace. God pours out this grace on us the moment that we ask him for his grace.

Ephesians 2:6-10   And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

It is amazing to think that God will be showing us the riches of his grace throughout the ages to come! It is this grace that saves us apart from works, it is God's free gift to us!
