BTLN UPDATE
Chris is once again laying claim to his kingdom! I tried to get in his way and he just brushed me aside.(Kinda like I did to him when he was in grade seven. What goes around comes around!) Chris outlasted Nathan K. to take his third Helmet of the year! Congrats Chris!(We played Bulldog with the strobe!)
This week was Mike Night! The guys are always stoked when they see the strobe hanging from the roof of the gym. We played with three teams, Team Charlie, Team Devin and Team Ryley/Chris. Ryley and Devin were trash talking the whole game even though Team Ryley/Chris were never really in the game. They were taking it on the chin the whole game. Team Charlie and Team Devin both took turns with the lead, but in the final round Team Devin cleaned up and ended with a big win.
Mike Night final score
Team Devin - 42
Team Charlie - 38
Team Ryley/Chris - 32
In the Bible study we looked at the story when Jesus went into the temple and cleaned house.(John 2:13-17) Jesus found people selling cattle, sheep and doves in the temple courts. He made a whip and went into the courts and chased everyone out. He also dumped tables and scattered the coins.
Jesus said "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!"
In all this Jesus did not sin! There is a time for righteous anger. The problem is most times we don't get angry without sinning.
Proverbs 29:22 - An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins.
Proverbs 14:17 - A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated.
Psalm 103:8-13 - The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
Although there is a time for righteous anger it would be better if we erred on the side of compassion. We should be slow to anger and compassionate!
